Unfortunately my current car (Seat Toledo) does not have a tape player, I bought a RoadTrip so I can charge up my iPhone and also broadcast on FM, but it's been a bit mixed so far. There's always a hiss in the background and the radio doesn't seem to be able to hold onto the signal very well. I had the same situation previously in my Lupo with an iTrip, so I suspect it's a general problem with VW Group radios. The radio in my Mini was great - there almost never any interference on that.
