…and we’re back

Ok, so my site has been offline a little while. I fell out with my host when it proved to be a pain the the arse to set up a regular payment via PayPal and couldn’t be bothered to find another one in the short term. So for now, this site is being hosted on a box in my house. It’s not exactly a powerhouse, being a silent little EPIA SP based machine, running at a mighty 800Mhz, but that should do for now.

In the short term I plan to evaluate what blog software is out there at there at the moment and possibly switch from Wordpress. I also want to transistion from using this domain name (whythehell.co.uk) to alexmace.co.uk and setup proper redirects.

and I had assumed you’d given up blogging and was about to delete you from my homepages! You do make it sound very complicated…

Hey dude glad to see your blog back up I was wondering where it went :) I will link you on my blog…

I missed your comments on my blog, got to work out why it doesn’t email me when new comments are added!

I would check Expression Engine out if your looking to move from WordPress, its pretty easy to customise, though it can be a little annoying. Hopefully version 2 will be out soon ish which is based on codeigniter so mvc :)

If you need any help with the Continuous Integration setup I can send you some examples of what I did, I have just been looking at tracking database changes in subversion too which is pretty cool. It enables you to use ant to migrate your database between versions of your software using delta files. Take a look at DBDeploy its sweet…
